Guatemalan economy

The economic activity is essentially agricultural - manual cultivation of land, cow and sheep breeding, etc. According to the altitude, the traditional cultivation of " maïs y frijoles " are completed by horticulture, the cultivation of coffee, sugar cane, fruits, cotton, flowers and particular spices such as cardamom which are very appreciated in the East.

The economy, essentially based on the agricultural production, agro - exportation, craft, linen manufacture, tablecloths and leathers, is organized in a very autonomous and decentralized way in independent companies, cooperatives and associations according to Maya's tradition .
