Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM)

Coastal zones are subjected to strong oceanic processes (swell, wind, tide, coastal current...) and anthropic activities (industry, tourism, demography...)

The Integrated Coastal Zone Managment (IZCM) programme aims to provide technical information about sustainable coastal zone management, and stimulate a broad debate among the various actors involved in the planning, management or use of coastal zones.

A deepening and an organization of knowledge on the concerned coastal area (Quantitative state concepts / Evaluation procedure), brought by scientific organizations, is a major element of success and guarantee for decision makings.

CASAGEC is a technology research center of ADERA, wich colaborate with the Laboratory of Applied Sciences on Coastal and Civil Engineering

(LaSAGeC²)

CASAGEC is managed by ADERA (Association for the development of teaching and research for Aquitania universities, research centers and companies).

The creation of CASAGEC was encouraged by the research and technology transfer department of the Aquitania Council, and the European Regional Development Funds (ERDF).
